Notes from the Chief

I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU for all who have helped with our many events this year. Your help was greatly needed and really appreciated. Anyone wanting to help (no matter how little you may think it is, it will be gigantic to us) can contact Larry Shores and find out how you can help.

The ISO inspector has come and rated our department. We are still waiting on our letter to arrive. It should be delivered before you read this newsletter. If you do not know what ISO is, well it’s sort of complicated but this is a simple explanation. ISO inspectors are the ones that determine how well your department carries on its business as a fully functioning fire department. Things that go into this rating, it directly effect your Home Owners Insurance Rate, are fire hoses, fire trucks, all emergency equipment, training, water supply and access to all area fire hydrants. If your department keeps good records and maintains its equipment your personal home owners insurance will show this as a possible drop in your rates. Without us, your rates would likely double annually. The ISO scores the department on a scale of 1-10. The lower the number the better rates you get. As of now we are a 5 classification. We will let you know if anything change.

We need volunteers!

If you are interested in becoming a firefighter or helping in anyway, call the station and leave a message.
